Amateur photographer W semi-professional skills. Should I buy Nikon D40 body only with Tamron 18-250 lens?
My goal is to be an important period of fashion and beauty business. Everything a professional digital camera. Please advise me on what takes to buy my Nikon D40. Should I buy the body only and buy the Tamron 18-250 or Nikon D40 w buy your lens and also buy the Tamron 18-250 …. If yes, why … If not, why Why not? Thank you for your help:)
In the United States, the D40 is sold with the kit 18-55mm lens. If you just aimlessly would suspect that the seller you are receiving or gear used on the gray market. Use the prism of 18-55 for a few months so you can discover what other lenses you need. You are kind of limited by selecting the target with low-end Nikon SLRs, and to be AF-S (focus motor built into the lens) if you want autofocus. If you are serious about entering the fashion photography, the D40 is a bit limiting. Better find a used D80 or get a D90 or something similar in the Canon range. This allows you to use a range Nikon lens goes back decades (Canon lenses only go back 20 years) the camera body accepts the new AF-S and more ambitious goals requiring Focus engine in the camera body. It also allows using Creative Lighting System Nikon. An interesting feature of the D90 and other Nikon equipment is modern correction chromatic aberrations to get rid of the stripe glasses at low prices. Works great. The Tamron is not a good goal to shoot portraits. It's OK to take pictures during the day bugs and kicks. The Tamron lens is too slow (opening is not large enough) is the distortion and chromatic aberrations ugly. Portrait lens for APS-C will be about 50 mm to 100 mm and having a large opening in the range 1.4 to 2.8 you can control depth of field. You have to take photography classes to master the details of the camera, composition and lighting. It also helps if you can be a lackeys of a portrait photographer to see how they do things. Much to learn!
